The Best Electronic Cigarette

This is our review of the E-Lites E Pro 4 purchased from http://www.e-lites.co.uk/

Founded in 2008, E-Lites claim to be the leader in electronic cigarettes both in the UK and internationally. They certainly have a good presence on the high street as I have seen more and more shops stocking their products recently. E-Lites are a founder member of the Electronic Cigarette Industry Trading Association (ECITA) which is an industry body of which the MHRA has indicated support for, which looks to ensure the correct regulatory framework is applied to e cigarettes now and for the future.
But the question is, are these heavy hitters product’s any good?

Presentation box / packaging

The E-Pro 4 is E-Lites flagship model of their G9 battery range. After seeing the previous model’s packaging, the box the E Pro 4 comes in is a huge improvement and looks great. It is black cardboard, but very compact and has a clear window at the front which displays the product. The box is opened by removing the top outer layer, and the product is positioned on a red foam cushion, reminding me of a jewellery presentation box. All in all, very nice so far.

Included in the box are the following:

  • 2 x batteries 240 mah (1 red light tip, 1 green light tip)
  • 1 x portable charging case
  • 5 x cartomizers regular strength
  • 1 x USB charger
  • 1 x AC mains adapter
  • 1 x manual

"The E Pro 4 PCC is without doubt one of the smartest on the market"

Battery

The E-Pro 4 includes a Personal Charging Case (PCC) which is a first for E-Lites and visually looks pretty very impressive. It is made out of a hard plastic structure which is almost soft to touch and has rounded edges which makes for a comfy fit in your hand or pocket. On the front there is an LED screen which illuminates blue and indicates the remaining life in the PCC battery.

The PCC imitates a traditional cigarette packet and is opened via the same hinge action at the top. Inside there is space for 2 batteries of which 1 which can be charged aswell as space for 2 cartomizers. The PCC is charged via a USB cable which is supplied within the starter kit and takes approximately 4hrs to charge. Once fully charged the E-Lites state that the PCC should re-charge 4 batteries and I can confirm that the model I tested achieved this number. To charge a battery you simply slide the battery into the appropriate slot and press and hold the button on the front of the PCC. The blue LED screen changes to red and the tip of the battery will flash to indicate that charging has commenced. Again, another nice touch from this PCC.

The batteries that are included within the E-Pro 4 are the standard E-Lites G9 type styled on a traditional tobacco cigarette in white with faux rings. The batteries took approximately 1.5hrs to charge from dead and was lasting me about the same when using which is average but not great.

Switch (responsiveness)
The switch on the E Pro 4 was not one of the best I have reviewed however it didn’t hinder the vaping experience too much. I simply found myself having to change my usual technique slightly to get the best out of the product. I found the best way to get a decent draw, was to draw harder than usual but as slow as possible.

E-Lites cartomizer

Vaping experience
The e cigarette is a two part device and is assembled as normal by screwing the battery into the cartomizer. The cartomizers have again been styled on a traditional tobacco filter. Once assembled the e cigarette measures 101mm in length.

In terms of performance, the E-Lites E Pro 4 performed relatively well. The regular tobacco flavour was one of the better flavours I have tried and provided a pleasant throat kick. The E Pro 4 also produced a decent amount of vapour. I was getting about 120-150 puffs per cartomizer which doesn’t equate to the same figures E LItes state themselves however is in line with the majority for this size of product. It is worth stating that however that the cartomizers themselves are pretty expensive when compared to the competition. E Lites do not support the re-filling of their cartomizers and are currently selling a pack of 10 for £34.99, whereas some of the other major brands are selling 20 for the same price.

Donny's final thoughts

Final thoughts

The PCC included within the E Pro 4 starter kit is without a doubt one of the smartest on the market. However whilst the product generally performed well, the switch needed a little getting used to and required a change in technique to get the best out of the E40 Pro. A good ecig all round though.

This is what I started with when I started to vape. I purchased an e-lite from a supermarket, and decided I needed a little more battery life, so I plumped for this.

It is a good device, and very useful. I charge it up every night (not that I need to) and will probably last 2-3 days of moderate vaping.

The only problem I have is that the e-lite tips are a little pricier than other similar products on the market,  but all in all this has served me very well and I have been smoke free for 2 weeks because of it!
