Skycig E-Cig e cigarette (Ecig) review

The Best Electronic Cigarette

This is our review of one of the most popular mini electronic cigarettes on sale today. Please check out my video review for a more in depth look.

Skycig are one of the leading e cigarette providers in the UK. Based in Linlithgow, Scotland, Skycig have been selling e cigarettes for a number of years and was voted ‘Best Electronic Cigarette in the UK’ in 2011 by The Skycig product range falls within the mini e cigarette category and are almost exactly the same size as a traditional cigarette

In terms of this review, I purchased the kit direct from Skycig's website, which was is nicely designed. Maybe a little more professional than some of the others I have reviewed including company blogs and customer reviews. The shipping took 3 days to arrive, which is average I suppose, not great but ok.

Presentation box / packaging

The presentation box the product comes in is simple in design simply stating the company branding on the top. It has a feel of quality to it though. It follows the common design of a magnetic catch to open and the flip action for the lid.

Included in the box are the following:

  • PCC (Personal Charging Case)
  • 5 Cartomizers (2 x Bold 18mg, 2 x Regular 12mg, 1 x Light 6mg)
  • 2 batteries
  • Mains charger
  • USB charging lead
  • User manual

"Simply screw the cartomizer into the battery and you are good to start vaping"

Skycig e cigarette starter kit

The Skycig starter kit includes a Personal Charging Case (PCC) which is hard plastic in structure and feels nice in the hand. It has been styled on a traditional tobacco cigarette pack and can hold up to 5 cartomizers, 1 fully assembled ecig and has space to charge 1 battery at a time. To do this you simply slip the battery into the correct slot and screw it gently until you light flashes on both the tip of the e cigarette and on the side of the PCC. This indicates the device is charging and takes approximately 90 mins to charge a dead ecig battery.  When fully charged a bettery was lasting me about an hour or so which is pretty much in line with the majority of batteries this size. The PCC itself takes about 4hrs to charge from empty.

Switch (responsiveness)

The switch on the Skycig was really good. Whilst it activated with only minor suction power it didn't go off with minor airflow movement, meaning you don't waste your battery unneccessarily.

Vaping experience

The skycig is a two part ecig, with a battery and cartomizer making up the full electroinic cigarette. It is assembled by simply screwing the cartomizer into the battery and your good to vape. The sky cig once assembled has a good solid weight to it and is 87mm in length, meaning it falls within the super mini e cigarette category.

Sky cig e cigarette

In terms of performance, I was impressed with the Skycig. It produced a good amount of vapour for a electronic cigarette of this size and the medium nicotine strength cartomizers delivered a decent and enjoyable throat hit.  The Cherry flavour was my personal favourite, quite sweet on the tongue, leaving a rich, deep cherry aftertaste.  One point to note, is that Skycig do not support the re-filling of cartomizers and sell packs of 10 for £10.95 which will make using this product more expensive than one which supports the re-filling of cartomizers.

So the Skycig product performed pretty well, however it simply does not compete with our favourite the Jacvapour V1P

Donny's final thoughts

The Skycig starter kit performed really well for a product of this size, providing a good amount of vapour and an enjoyable range of cartomizer flavours. Obviously the batteries are not going to last as long as a performance ecig, but for those looking for an electronic cigarette which almost mirrors a traditional cigarette in style and size, we are more than happy to recommend this product.

I made a purchase of this sky cig after this review , I must say i am very impressed with the quality , taste and overall performance of the skycig.

Your review of this product was ultimately the key to my choice , I have bought on impulse in the past and been disappointed with my choices ,

Keep up the good work and keep the discount codes coming !!!!

I’ve had the Skycig for about a month now and i love it, and your review is bang on! I agree about the cherry flavour, but i’m hooked on the vanilla, it’s like smoking custard!!. One thing i will add, their cartomizer price is £10.95 for a box of 5, not 10, and you get a quid or 2 knocked off for buying more than one box, though sadly it has to be the same flavour. If you mix them you cop the top price!! Still, it’s a great product which has very nearly got me off tobacco completely, and i’m sure i’ll soon be baccy free!! When that day arrives, i’ll start refilling as i’m saving my empties, if they don’t like me doing it then they can cut their prices!
